Heart Does Matter

What are things that truly lasts in our life? Majority will say: ‘changes’. I won’t argue,  because that is part of the fact. Then, this question bring me deeper unto another important aspects, because personally I consider changes as an external source. Along my life’s journey, I have repeated this questions continuously within the stream of thoughts. While my minds keep connecting the dots of experiences, memories and knowledge, the answer came up–It’s our heart.

Why I conclude that it is our heart that will stay until the last second of our consciousness? I imagine standing in front of a giant screen, and this screen shows the timeline of my life, recall the memories, choices and decisions which I had chosen in the past. In the end, doesn’t it’s always our heart that have the capability to determine where life goes? Nowadays, I notice it in wordings such as “follow your passion” or “find your calling”.

Some might insist that knowledge is main principal, which has shaped their life. That also might be the truth–life is always mixtures of truth (external source) and perceptions (internal source). So far as I know, knowledge is one of the primary tool that human race have ever found, either to develop or devastate the world in which we live in. In addition, knowledge will be able to expand only when we decide to expand them. For example, when I was a kid, I really love stars at night because my knowledge in that certain season of my life indicated that stars looked similar to “glowing sky candies”. As I grew up and learn about science, my comprehension about these “glowing sky candies” were enlarged. Then I knew that sun is also a star, but my heart can’t deny that I still love to stare thoughtfully unto these “glowing sky candies” at night whenever I have the opportunity to enjoy those beautiful glimmering light. Knowledge changed, heart won’t. Both are important, but changes happen firstly in the heart.

Human can pathetically masquerade their true identity with appearances, expressions, activities or even decisions. Sadly, most of the time, we are parading for something vague. What is truly inside our heart can not contradict our true self, and that’s why I find people living their life in emptiness and wounds; I were one of them in the past. I believe that true joy will flows profusely when we start right with our heart motivation to find the truest essence of life. Quit compare ourselves to others, each of us is unique and have the ability to take great chance to fulfill our own life’s purpose.

Proverbs 23:12 (NKJV) Apply your heart to instruction, And your ears to words of knowledge.

Matthew 5:8 (NKJV) Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
